Talk To Me
Talk To Me
The “Talk to Me” application is another classic, foundational project for beginners learning no-code mobile development on platforms like Kodular or MIT App Inventor. The primary purpose of this app is to convert digital text or physical movements into spoken audio using a smartphone’s native hardware. At its core, the application features a very simple user interface consisting of a Text Box where users can type any phrase they want, alongside a “Speak” or “Click Me” button. The magic happens behind the scenes through a hidden element called the TextToSpeech component, which links directly to the smartphone’s built-in voice engine. When a user enters text into the box and taps the button, the blocks programming logic intercepts that specific click event, pulls the string of text from the input field, and feeds it directly into the speech system to be read aloud.
